"Trust me. You need it more than I do." She was being more honest than generous. Since she didn't really really need to buy food constantly, she always had a little bit extra each much, and then some. "Please, I insist." She kept her hand out.

He felt far too guilty to accept the cash, even though he knew he needed it and she would probably be offended if he didn't. He was at an impasse with his own manners. "I...uh...." Finally he forced his decision. He put his hand in hers and shook it, then took the money. "I'll pay you back, I promise."

With a small shake, she withdrew her hand. " You really don't have to, honestly." She returned her hand to her lap. "It's just money, I can always make that back easily." She informed him. Money, even when she was human, was something she always had. It meant nothing to her.

"...thank you." He picked up his backpack and carefully folded the bills, putting them in his backpack. "Oh, wait, what's your name?" He would find her and pay her back regardless of her protests. If he got a paying job soon, that is.

"Terezi." she answered the male. "Terezi Pyrope." Her eyes happen to glance at the wall clock. Morning would come soon. Surely this male would be out by then. Terezi couldn't exactly be in direct sunlight, you know. Her gaze returned to him. "May I ask what yous is?"

"Tassek Paxaro." It was a little silly, but apparently it was Russian or something. Maybe. Actually, he'd looked it up and it was just nonsense for the most part. Apparently his last name meant 'bird' in some obscure Indo-European language, though. It seemed out of place with his actual Russian heritage, which came out in an accent every so often, but he found a strange irony in the name's meaning.

Terezi paused to take in the unfamiliar name. "Well that is rather unique. It's a name i haven't heard of before. Be proud of it." She gave a smile to the male. Terezi couldn't really talk herself, but back in her childhood days a unique name was something that you were proud of, but currently she has seen more common names than her own.

"Thanks, I think." He looked confused, but smiled back politely. "I've never heard yours before either, but that's not really saying much." Nowadays weird names earned people even weirder nicknames. As of yet he'd managed to avoid the worst of them.

"It's greek, that's probably why." She informed him. Another reason why no one really believed she was french. Her parents decided to go against traditions for once when she was born and name her something rather unique, though she was glad for it.

"That would make sense." He checked to make sure he had everything, then went to the door. "Thanks for everything. Sorry to trouble you." He glanced out the window at the slowly paling sky. It was almost morning, and he had to get home and then to school in the next few hours. Oh dear. He was definitely going to fail that math test, if only because he would fall asleep halfway through out of stress and exhaustion. Probably.

"It's alright. No need to worry yourself about it." She called to him as he left. Terezi then stood up, and walked to the window. Morning would be here soon. Sunlight through a window didn't irritate her that much, but it still bothered her. She grabbed a cord on the right side of the large window and pulled the curtains close, once he left she could probably work on a dress or something. She didn't exactly need sleep.

He left the building and found himself on an unfamiliar street. Eventually he tracked down a subway station and made his way home with the money. His pet bird was in a feather-ruffled rage and he quickly fed it before passing out on his mattress, setting his alarm for an hour later. He would have a boring and mentally exhausting day at school, but the test would, in fact, be passed.

Once he left completely, Terezi shut off the lights to the house and headed to the only "bedroom" in the house. In reality, there was no bed in there since her vampire abilities had given her no more need to sleep. It was just a dresser, a desk filled with all sorts of fabric and sewing supplies, a stand to fit and pin the dress, and many bookshelves filled to the brim with books. Some were English, other were French.
While she hand-sewed a dress, which she spent hours on, Terezi couldn't help but feel the urges of not feeding kick in. Like an itch you couldn't scratch, or when you have a sore throat and no amount of water could satisfy it. She needed to feed, and quickly.
Good thing for her, that most of the day passed before she exited the house. The sun was setting, night was soon.

As if staying out late hadn't been a bad enough idea the night before, Tassek went shopping for groceries that evening on the way home from class. He bought bread, some microwaveable things, sandwich supplies, and a lot of apples. That should sustain him for a while. He tried to begin heading home earlier this time to avoid the creepy, tense atmosphere that had so adversely affected him before passing out yesterday.
Stopping at a used game store on the way, he looked at a packaged version of the full FNAF series. It actually might be good practice. Like practice could even help a sleeping disorder. And if not, well, at least he would get a good night's rest. In the middle of the day. In front of his computer.
He bought it with the last of the money, not really enough to buy anything else of use or last until the next grocery trip, then continued on his way.

She was able to find a homeless man in an alleyway after some walking. Mid 40s, no kids around. Toothless. Visibly high. Probably because he wanted to take the edge of living on the streets off.
Without remorse, she sat down next to him and immediately plunged her fangs into his neck. She didn't have time think about consequences, she needed to feed now. The hot metallic liquid soothed her thirst as the man struggled underneath her for life. She pinned him to the ground. He could cry out, but he'd be dead by the time anyone came.

Over the din of the thinning crowd and packed-together traffic he heard pained whimpers from somewhere nearby. It was probably a mugging. He couldn't do anything. And yet he found himself following the noise anyway, pulling out his phone and readying the speed dial for the police once he figured out which street it was happening on. Soon he tracked down the source of the noise and squinted first at the street sign, then at the shadows, trying to figure out what was going on. He kept his distance, his stance showing he was prepared to run if noticed. The walls of people continued on behind him, not noticing or caring.

The weak man's heart raced faster as his body struggled for life. She was used to this by now, of course. Everyone wanted to live, no one wanted to die. Life has always been like that, but Terezi wasn't the one to play God. She just wanted to get by herself. The last dropped left his body, and the man breathed his last breath. She pulled away, and stared at the bloody mess before her. To cover this up as an accident was going to take a miracle.

He hesitantly took a step closer to see one of the two struggling figures stand up. He had been raising the phone to his ear but froze as he recognized the girl from before, eyes flicking from her to the limp form she had been...what? Then the phone fell from his shaking hand, clattering to the ground. He very nearly went down along with it but bit his tongue, the pain keeping him awake. This could potentially be lethal if he fell asleep, though she hadn't done anything when she'd found him before, so maybe...?

Suddenly, she heard a sound of something be dropped. Her gaze darted upwards. The man from before? Oh shit. This wasn't good.He knew who she was. Before he could say or do anything, she immediately ran towards the wall away from him, and quickly climbed it up to the roof. Fuck. fuck. Fuck. She knew she shouldn't of helped him, now look what she got herself into. She had to get home, quick.

Relieved she hadn't made a go for him, he scrambled for his phone and ran after her, trying to replace the battery on the go. The plastic backing had come off after bouncing and he waited impatiently for it to power on so he could call someone. But she climbed the wall and there was no way he could follow. So instead he went and checked on the crumpled man. He didn't have a pulse. She had killed him.
Tassek felt the world slip away in a haze of panic as he joined the dead man on the ground.

Terezi heard another thud as she hit the top of the roof. That was probably him. She didn't have time to save him now. He was on his own. The police would probably help him. It was only a matter of time before she would have to leave town. She ran and jumped to the next roof, and gripped the tops of it before she pulled herself up.
She exhaled slowly. Well, it was too quick make a rash decisions. either way, she needed to get home and wash this blood off.

Yes, the police definitely 'helped' him. At some point somebody else had finally noticed the commotion and called the cops, and as he was the only other person there, he had been taken into custody. Being asleep and all, he hadn't been able to protest or call a lawyer, not that he knew any. Now he was waking up handcuffed to the counter at a police station. Very helpful.

With an insane amount of luck, she was able to make it back to her house in one piece, and without being then noticed. The first thing she did was strip down, throwing the bloodied clothes into the darkness of the house. Terezi would half to tend to those later. Next, she raced to the shower and turned on the water. It didn't matter the temperature, she got in almost the second it came on.
The blood trickled off her and down the drain, but it wasn't coming off as fast as she wanted it to go. Immediately, she started scrubbing, not even caring if she tore her skin open in the process. It has happened before, and it could happen again.
Once clean, she shut off the water and got into clean clothes. Next was to deal with the bloodied ones.

He was interrogated for a while, exasperatedly saying that he hadn't touched the man except to check for a pulse, that he was narcoleptic and had fallen asleep from panic at finding a dead body, that no, he didn't know who had done it, really.
So maybe this last bit wasn't true, but he wanted to ask her himself. So she had, um, killed someone. But if she wanted to kill him too then she would have done it either time he was asleep, so maybe she had a good reason? Doubtful. But he wanted to hear her side of the story.
After the interrogation he sat in the corner of the cell, away from the others in holding. Neither they nor the police were honestly sure what to do with this random college student, since he had been found at the scene of the crime but seemed incapable of killing anyone. In addition, no weapon had been found, so they couldn't check prints. For lack of other solutions they put up bail, and after an hour or two a bob-haired girl his age paid it off and drove him home. They sat in silence, not the awkward, guilty kind, but the sort that said she knew how he felt about what happened and knew not to ask for details. Best friends were good for things like that. Instead of home, though, he asked her to drop him off by the subway so he could track his way back to the other girl's house. Naturally she thought this was a horrible idea, and offered to come with and stab her if things got ugly, but eventually he convinced her to calm down and go home, and that he'd call her if he needed anyone stabbed.
With that he took the subway to her house with the new card he'd bought and stood outside her door, not sure if he should knock or not.

She wrapped her wet hair in a towel. It was at her shoulders, but she wanted to make sure that she didn't look suspicious enough. If her heart could still beat, it would race currently. God, she was a mess. It was the first time she almost ever got caught. Well, she was going to assume almost.
Terezi stumbled into the kitchen, and grabbed a couple of black trash bags from one of the cabinets, one to hide the evidence, another to prevent leaking. She stuffed the clothes into the bag, and headed towards the door. Unfortunately for her, Terezi's apartment's laundry room was on the first floor.
To her surprise, she saw Tassek standing outside her door the second she opened it. She jumped into surprise. Fuck. Well, she had some explaining to do. "Oh, uh... hello." nervousness was laced in her voice.
